Valve-style multiwall kraft bags and lined woven bags are common options, but each serves different operating conditions.

Compare the Main Bag Types Before Selecting One

Multiwall kraft valve bags provide a clean printable surface, compact filled shape, and good compatibility with automated powder filling. Their structure can use two or more paper plies, controlled ventilation, and an optional moisture barrier.

Laminated woven PP bags provide strong resistance to tearing and short-term water exposure. They may be useful where handling is rough or humidity risk is higher, provided the valve and liner arrangement suits the filling process.

The choice between these dry mortar bags should consider more than unit price. Filling efficiency, dust loss, pallet density, print requirements, damaged-bag rate, and disposal expectations all contribute to total packaging cost.

Let the Mortar Grade Define the Structure

Standard masonry mortar, repair compounds, self-leveling products, tile grout, and decorative mortar have different flow and protection requirements.

Fine powders can pass through unsuitable ventilation holes. Sand-rich formulations create more abrasion against the inner layer. Lightweight mortar holds a larger volume at the same weight, which affects bag dimensions. Polymer-modified products are often more sensitive to moisture.

The bag manufacturer should therefore receive information about:

  • Target filling weight

  • Bulk density and particle range

  • Cement and additive content

  • Filling temperature

  • Required shelf life

  • Expected storage humidity

These details help determine paper strength, valve size, barrier type, and finished dimensions.

Consider What Happens After the Factory

Bag performance continues to matter after filling. Warehouse stacking creates compression, truck movement causes vibration, and manual unloading introduces drops and surface abrasion.

Local deliveries through controlled warehouses may suit a standard paper construction. Export shipments or humid regional storage may require dry mortar packaging bags with a PE barrier, coated paper, laminated woven structure, or additional pallet protection.

No flexible industrial bag should be stored directly on a damp floor. Dry pallets, covered transport, and weather-protected unloading remain necessary even when a moisture barrier is included.

Use the Pallet as Part of the Specification

Filled dimensions influence how many bags fit each layer and whether the load remains stable. Bags that retain excess air can create uneven stacks and waste container space.

The manufacturer should know the pallet length and width, desired layer pattern, number of layers, and wrapping method. Bag length, face width, bottom width, and valve placement can then be adjusted around both the filling machine and pallet plan.

This approach is especially useful for plants using automatic palletizers, where dimensional variation can cause repeated positioning errors.

Approve Samples Under Real Operating Conditions

Empty-bag inspection cannot confirm how a package behaves with mortar inside. Trial bags should run at the intended filling speed and be checked for dust, weight variation, valve closure, and final shape.

After filling, test drop resistance, pasted-end strength, pallet compression, print abrasion, and moisture protection. A short warehouse trial can reveal caking or liner problems before a large order enters production.

A reliable dry mortar bag supplier should use the trial results to refine paper plies, ventilation, valve design, barrier protection, and dimensions. Submit the mortar data, machine specifications, pallet plan, artwork, and required quantity to obtain samples and a customized quotation.
